About

Welcome!  I’m Doug Swisher, publisher of IM Training HQ.

In my exploration of internet marketing, I’ve learned how hard it can be to find reliable training about topics of critical importance to newbies, and I’ve started this site so that I and others can find the guidance we need.

The Nitty-Gritty Fundamentals

During more than one training on web traffic, I’ve heard teachers lament that many students don’t have any place to send the traffic they’re learning to drive.  Many new marketers are intimidated by the supposed difficulty of building their own blog, and they’re frightened by the “techy stuff.”

There are lots of alternatives to building your own blog–providers promising to get the job done with only a few clicks of your mouse, but they come with disadvantages.  The provider’s ads appear on your site, you can’t easily move your site to another host, etc.

Similarly, many products are sold with the promise that buyers can “make money on YouTube without making videos.” Their sales pages play up the difficulty of making quality videos and building up a channel.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.  Whether it’s creating a blog or building a YouTube channel, there are excellent resources available to help newbies establish an online presence.

Honest Reviews

“Launch jacking” is an affiliate marketing strategy wherein affiliates post written or video reviews of the seemingly endless flow of new marketing courses and tools.  During the product launch selling frenzy, they often compete with each other to attract buyers by offering many bonuses of questionable value.

Unfortunately, the reviews are often vague about what’s actually being taught in a course or what service is being provided, and they’re clearly intended present even questionable products in the best possible light.

When I review courses, tools, and services here at IM Training HQ, you can count on me for an honest assessment and clear information about the products on offer.

Marketing Lifestyle Factors

Many newcomers are attracted to internet marketing by the low barriers to entry when compared with starting a brick-and-morter business.  What they don’t realize is just how much of a learning curve exists, and how much work is required.  There’s plenty of it, and that means we need a repertoire of supporting qualities and skills:  a strong mindset to help us persevere, a fit body to give us the required energy, and great working skills and habits—productivity skills, good organization, and so on.

Watch for information about these topics and recommended resources—with all the demands of running an online business, self-improvement and self-management cannot be ignored.

Fresh News You Can Use

It’s easy to get mired in strategy, technical work, and so on, to the point that we don’t stay current with recent developments and opportunities.

Visit IM Training HQ often for recent information and for a refreshing break from the rigors of building an online presence and running your business–I’ll publish articles to inform and to entertain.
